Students must sign in at the front desk for every class they take. This includes their enrolled and make-up classes. Please note that it is important for students to keep up with their attendance for accounting purposes.
Parent Portal and Mobile App Policy
All parents must have login info for the online parent portal. This allows the parent to manage their student account and make payments online. Both students and parents must have the Urban Edge Dance Co. mobile phone app downloaded to their phone and set to receive push notifications.
Monthly Tuition is due every 1st of the month. There is a grace period of 5 days. If payment is not made by the 5th of the month, a $20 late fee will apply. Exceptions will not be made. Tuition may also be paid prior to the 1st of the month to avoid the late fee.
There are two options available for paying monthly tuition: paying cash at the front desk or enrolling in autopay. If not enrolled in autopay, tuition must be paid in cash only. Checks are not accepted. Debit/credit card payments for tuition are available for autopay members only. Enrolling in autopay is available at anytime during the student’s enrollment. If cancelling autopay, please be advised of the cash payment rule. The student and billing profile will be created during first-time enrollment and must be monitored by the parent/guardian throughout their student's enrollment.
Tuition is based on four classes per month. Months with five classes are used to offset holidays and studio closures. There are no refunds or credits, nor can any missed classes be applied to a subsequent month’s tuition. All fees are non-refundable. Absolutely no exceptions.
If the student's account is not up to date by the 10th of the month, he/she will not be permitted in their enrolled classes until their account is current. Student will be dropped from class if account is not paid by the 15th of the month.
Parents must notify the front desk regarding any changes to the account by the 25th of the month.
The Annual Registration Fee is due at the time of registration and will be charged annually on the month of first-time enrollment per student. Returning students and/or siblings will be charged a $15 renewal fee (per child) annually after the initial registration fee payment of $30. If the student does not attend classes for a period of one year, the registration fee of $15 will be charged again upon re-registration.
I/We authorize Urban Edge Dance Co. to automatically deduct the tuition fee/team dues per month posted under my/our Urban Edge Dance Co. acct. These regular monthly charges will be debited to my/our credit/debit card on the 1st of each month beginning the month my child started taking classes here at Urban Edge Dance Co.
No refunds. No exceptions.
Class Enrollment Policy
All students MUST first be evaluated during their first class before enrolling. The instructor and director will inform the parent/guardian and student of the appropriate class age/level via email. The student may continue to take their chosen class(es) upon registration and monthly tuition payment.
Enrolling in additional classes or dropping a class must be done in-person at the front desk prior to the subsequent month’s billing.
Students must be on time for class. They may be dropped off 10 minutes before class starting time and should be picked up no later than 15 minutes after class. Students who arrive 15 minutes after the class starting time will not be able to take class and asked to take a make up class to avoid class disruption. Additionally, the first 15 minutes of class is for stretching and if the student misses the stretching portion, they are more prone to being injured in class.
Enrollment/Schedule of Classes
We have two enrollment seasons- Spring/Summer (January-July) and Fall/Winter (August-December). The class schedule changes every season (2x/year). Students and their parents/guardians are responsible for enrolling in classes. Class schedule is subject to change for any reason without notice.
Class Make-up Policy
Make up classes are only offered to students currently enrolled.
Students may take make up classes in any class within their age range according to their current level.
For example, a 3-4 year old may take any other age 3-4 year old class, different styles included. A 7-12 year old student in level 1 classes may take any style in their age range in level 1 classes only. However, a 7-12 year old student in level 2 (& up) classes may take any style in their age range in level 2 (or below) classes.
Make-up classes are allowed only if the absence is excused. Students can be excused for the following reasons only:
1) Illness 2) Holiday 3) Studio Closure (Summer and Winter Break) 4) Parent had called in ahead of time
ALL MAKE UP CLASSES MUST BE MADE UP WITHIN 1 MONTH FROM WHEN THE ABSENCE OCCURRED. After the 1-month period, the class will become ineligible to make up.
For missed classes due to Winter or Summer Break, students may take make up classes at the start of each season to make up for the last month of the previous season. Any other regular absences throughout the season will become ineligible after one month (except for competitive dance team members- all absences must be made up).
Make up class may not be taken in the same class in which the absence occurred. Student must be actively enrolled in a class in order to take make up classes. Only excused and called in absence can be made up. Make up form is available at the front desk and must be turned in to instructor at the beginning of class.
Studio Etiquette Policy
Students/families must display proper etiquette in the lobby in respect to those around them.
UEDC is not responsible for any children waiting or left at the studio for any reason.
UEDC has the right to refuse service to any person, for any reason.
Studio Capacity and Liability Policy
Students should not be left unattended without a parent/guardian present and must be dropped off/picked up in a timely manner. This also includes siblings and friends of students. We want to assure the safety of all our students and to respect the studio’s maximum capacity regulation for the lobby and dance rooms. The studio is not responsible for students who have been left unattended.
We can only revoke this authorization by providing written notification via email or letter to Urban Edge Dance Co. notification for cancelation must be received 2 weeks prior to the following month. If a 2-week notice is not given, the client will be charged the following month’s tuition.
The student’s full account will be reviewed prior to dropping them from the system. If there is a balance due, it will be brought up to the parent and will have to be paid at the time of departure. Please note that a refund should not be expected or is not guaranteed when dropping your student from class.
